I have always loved reading, and have wanted to instill that in my children. Yesterday when my daughter said she wanted to read The Last Olympian, I was all too happy to oblige. Off we headed to the bookstore, where I also treated myself to The Gift of an Ordinary Day by Katrina Kennison. We spent our evening absorbed in our books, while darkness fell outside. No TV, no computer, just peace. In our noisy, frequently overstimulating world, moments like these are sacred.
